Author’s Note: Thank you to Lin and purplesafetypin for looking this over. And another thanks to Lin for titling this for me, because I am a lost cause when it comes to titles.
And, as usual, thanks to my partner for editing this and making it far better than it otherwise would have been.
Summary:
There’s a tension in the air that suggests they were arguing, but now they’re so still and quiet that Pony isn’t certain. Both of Soda’s hands rest gently on Darry’s sides, his fingers slowly sliding up and down an inch or two. Ponyboy can’t remember his mom doing that to his dad, but there’s something about the gesture that reminds him of her.
Darry says, quietly. “I know. But I’m trying. I really am.”
“Well, if you know, then cut it out, okay? You’re being a pain in the neck.” Despite the words, Soda’s voice is just as soft as Darry’s.
『Or, Ponyboy is applying to universities and everyone feels anxious.』
